Evan Robarts: Super Reliable at Bryce Wolkowitz running through July 29th

Robarts' mop paintings and line drawings are something to behold, referencing his time working as a building superintendent in East New York. The work takes seemingly mundane objects and processes and elevates them to a level that must be admired.
Group Show: For Freedoms at Jack Shainman running through July 29th

For Freedoms is a project that was co-founded by Hank Willis Thomas and Eric Gottesman, it "raises awareness of the impact of money on our political system and questions the notion of freedom in the twin contexts of art and politics" (press release). It is a prescient exhibition in light of the impending 2016 presidential election and features moving works by the likes of Zoe Buckman, Mickalene Thomas, Hank Willis Thomas, Nina Chanel Abney and Marilyn Minter amongst others.
